PeaceJam’s comprehensive service-learning programs introduce young people to the lives and work of Nobel Peace Laureates in an exciting interactive format that fosters 21st century skills, leadership development, and global citizenship.

They are designed to stand alone or be integrated into existing curricula or programs in schools or out-of-school settings. PeaceJam is the world’s largest youth development and service-learnig organization led by Nobel Peace Laureates, including the Dalai Lama, Betty Williams, Rigoberta Menchú Tum, Oscar Arias, Desmond Tutu, Máiread Corrigan Maguire, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Jody Williams, José-Ramos Horta, Sir Joseph Rotblat, Shirin Ebadi, and Leymah Gbowee.

The PeaceJam mission is “to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody.”

Since its beginning in 1996 over one million youth worldwide have participated in the program and implemented over two million service projects in their communities. Examples of some of these projects can be accessed on our One Billion Acts of Peace website (1billionacts.org).

We provide award winning service-learning curricula for elementary, middle, high, and college age youth where students study the lives and work of the Laureates, build age-appropriate awareness of global issues, develop leadership and 21st century skills, and create and implement service projects to address the root causes of global issues in their communities and the world.
